Hi! I’m Roy, an Industrial Designer & Design Researcher. I like to work with high-tech user-centered products and systems that require an idealistic, but hands-on approach.
I’m currently working on Design Research Theory and Practice, Design for Health and Wellbeing at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Department of Industrial Design. I use my knowledge in UX Research, Mixed Methods Design Processes, and Design Engineering to open up new design spaces and develop societally relevant solutions.
I develop transformative (digital) systems that grow with users over time, incorporating behavioral change theory, growing systems, and data-enabled design. I use sensor technologies, data infrastructures, UX research, and multi-stakeholder collaborations to give shape to a healthier, more active society.
I’m happy when I can develop new concepts and design directions through qualitative and quantitative research, design & engineer cool ideas into meaningful products, set up empirical studies to validate them and bring these ideas into real-world applications and commercial solutions.
